Bobby was ninety-nine years old at the time. Naturally, there were first concerns about the consequences of the mistake, especially with regard to the man’s health. But even at that age, the poisonous substance didn’t hit his stomach, so it was a laughable incident. Stein described her grandfather’s immediate state before the incident as “unfazed.”

Unfortunately, Bobby’s death brought us back to our attention. On November 3, Alex posted on Instagram to share the news. Bobby left us in June 1991, aged 91.

Alex shared several photos and touching videos to remember Bobby along with a heartbreaking caption. Since Nov. 3 would have been Bobby’s 92nd birthday, she shared the news that day. Alex went on to say that Bobby died peacefully in his sleep.

He continues: “And although he is terribly missed, he truly lived a long, happy, healthy and fulfilling life as a doctor, musician, father and grandfather.” Aside from consuming paint, Alex recalls that Bobby’s only goal in life was to make everyone around him laugh. As a result, it was almost as if he gained the entire world as the Internet turned into his audience. She concludes by expressing her gratitude to all of Bobby’s supporters over the years, saying she always knew the internet would perpetuate Bobby’s color-eating legend.

The post was soon flooded with messages of support, love, and memories of the legendary person on the Internet.
